Trail Condition Report

Jasper National Park of Canada

Updated: September-23-17

ATTENTION HIKERS!: Significant snowfall accumulation in Jasper National Park. Expect up to 80 cm of snow at higher elevations. Backcountry travel will be extremely difficult, be prepared for winter conditions.

WARNING! Bull elk are dangerous during the fall rut. Keep at least 30 m away, never get between a male and the females and keep your dog on a leash.

YOU ARE IN BEAR COUNTRY! Always keep a safe distance away from wildlife. Use standard bear precautions: be alert, make noise when biking or hiking, travel in groups, carry bear spray and know how to use it. Stay at least 100 metres (or 10 bus lengths) away from bears and other carnivores.
