Churchill is 1,400 kilometres (870 miles) northeast of Winnipeg, accessible only by plane or VIA Rail train. Prince of Wales Fort’s main entry point, Churchill, is also the site of Parks Canada’s Visitor Centre.

Several commercial companies offer boat transport to the fort, as well as bus service and vehicle rentals to Cape Merry. Parks Canada does not provide transportation to the sites.

To Prince of Wales Fort National Historic Site

Prince of Wales Fort, Sloop Cove and Cape Merry are all readily accessible by local transportation from Churchill, Manitoba.
