Riel House is closed for the season. We look forward to seeing you in 2024!

Conveniently located, Riel House is just a 20-minute drive from downtown Winnipeg. Visitors can also access the site via public transit. Plan to spend an hour or two exploring the house, grounds and outdoor interpretive panels.

Directions

By vehicle

Riel House is located on the east side of the Red River, south of Bishop Grandin Boulevard in St. Vital, Winnipeg. Turn south from Bishop Grandin Boulevard on River Road for access from the north.

By bus

The City of Winnipeg offers bus service directly from downtown. For current route and fare information, please contact Winnipeg Transit

By bike

Why not bicycle to Riel House National Historic Site? We suggest riding along the east side of the Red River, through nearby St. Vital Park, a beautiful place for an afternoon ride. Continue south along River Road until you reach Riel House National Historic Site.

By rail

VIA Rail has regular train service to Winnipeg's 100-year-old Union Station. Learn more about Via Rail service.
