A soldier offers a sample of whiskey to taste
Come taste with us

Building on the previous whisky tasting session, which could have been referred to as Whisky 101, the August sessions will up the ante.  The whisky selection is moving from "basic entry level" to four superior and more expansive whiskies.

This session is Whisky 201: A premium Bourbon, an 18 year old Canadian Whisky, an award winning peaty Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky and a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky extra-mature in Oloroso Sherry casks for two years.

As customary, the Whisky Tasting Event will start with a whisky cocktail in the Visitors' Centre.  Afterwards, patrons will enjoy Fort Wellington grounds while being escorted by period-costumed tour guides. Inside the Fort's Historical Stoned Soldiers' Quarters, whisky lovers will be entertained through four tastings, with bite-sized food pairing, while being informed about the terroir, the distillery, the effect of wood on maturation and a myriad of fun facts about whiskies.  Questions and curiosity are welcomed and often rewarded!

Whether new to the spirit or a seasoned enthusiast, a fun and entertaining evening awaits all those in attendance.

Following the event, guests are invited to join in the Question and Answer period at the Red George Pub.
