The Canadian Fencibles

Canadian Fencibles
The Canadian Regiment of Fencible Infantry, more commonly known as the Canadian Fencibles, consists of a group of people dedicated to the memory of the original regiment. The group accurately portrays the regiment's uniforms, equipment, drill, and life during the War of 1812 period.

Historically, the Canadian Fencibles were raised from people in eastern Ontario, and played a significant role in key battles in the region during the War of 1812. Today, the re-enactment unit participates in a variety of different reenactments and events from full encampments at historic sites to local events. For the War of 1812 Bicentennial, the Fencibles participated in Fort Wellington's Garrison weekend on May 19th -21st 2012. They also hosted a large naval reenactment event called the Flight of the Royal George on June 29-July1st in Bath, Ontario.
