The Lachine Canal is located in the southwest section of the island of Montreal. It is accessed by Highway 20, the Metro or by the path.

The Lachine Canal extends 14.5 kilometres between the Old Port and Lake Saint-Louis.

The navigation season runs from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving (mid-May to mid-October); the path is maintained from April 15 to November 15 and the park is open every day until 11: 00 pm.
