Rediscovering the Forges-du-Saint-Maurice

Saturday September 29th, 2018
From 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm

As part of the Journées de la culture, the Forges du Saint-Maurice National Historic Site offers a day of special activities. Come and discover what everyday life was like in the village of Les Forges, as well as the former crafts related to metallurgy. During your visit, you could come across the character Chaussegros de Léry, engineer of the King!

3 thematic workshops will also be offered:

  • A workshop on metallurgy at the Blast Furnace
  • A workshop on period furniture in the Grande maison
  • The special activity Rêver un pays / Imagine a Country

You will receive a questionnaire that will guide you in the rediscovery of the Forges, and if you answer enough questions, you will not leave empty-handed...

A Parks Canada stand will also be on site to allow visitors to have their pictures taken in period costume and in front of an image of the historic site of their choice.

The activity will take place from 12 pm to 4:30 pm.

IMPORTANT: It is forbidden to bring alcohol on site.
