Experience winter in the park — snowshoe and ski on the spectacular Acadian Coast.
Rediscover Kouchibouguac during winter. Immerse in snowy environs on 15 kilometres of marked cross-country ski routes—set out from Pijeboogwek Waxing Hut and choose between classic or skate ski trails. Seven warming huts dot this network; firewood is on-hand, bring your own hot cocoa. Three marked paths—and dozens of unmarked routes—draw in snowshoers throughout the winter as well.
Keep lookout for blue jays and northern saw-whet owls; bird watching is easy in the leafless deciduous trees. And with cosy gear, cold-weather camping can be as fun as a summertime outing—snowshoe into Petit-Large Campground and setup at a peaceful tent-site. Or simply cherish a sedate coastal winter walk and the youthful joy of a toboggan ride. You’ll find the equipment you need to make the season memorable at the park’s rental facility.
Winter is beautiful and accessible in Kouchibouguac—experience it for yourself.
