Apr 27 (also May 25 & June 29) - Frog Watch

  • Become a citizen scientist! Learn to ID frogs in the park by their sounds. Takes place at sunset on Apr. 27, May 25 and June 29 (must commit to all 3 nights).

May 5 - Jane’s Walk

  • Get to know your city and take part in a Parks Canada guided walk as part of Jane's Walk 2017. Visit  www.janeswalk.org

May 13 - International Migratory Bird Day

  • Join Parks Canada and Toronto Zoo to celebrate the return of birds with walks and activities for new and experienced birders. 

May 20 - Welcome Areas Open for 2017

  • Join us for the opening of our Parks Canada visitor welcome areas. Fun activities are planned for the entire family.  

June 7-11 - Rouge Days with Learn to Fish 

  • Celebrate the people, history and nature of the Rouge Watershed with fun events across Toronto, Markham, Richmond Hill, Whitchurch-Stouffville and Pickering. Visit www.rougedays.ca
  • Get hooked on fishing with this free program, co-led by Parks Canada. 

June 24-25 - BioBlitz Canada

  • A Signature Canada 150 Event – become a citizen scientist and help us count all of the park’s plant and animal species. Featuring a unique in-park festival with activities, entertainment and food. Visit www.ontariobioblitz.ca

June 24-25 - LandMarks 

  • A Signature Canada 150 Event, Landmarks will feature an outdoor exhibit featuring multidisciplinary art installations inspired by the Rouge’s natural and cultural heritage. Visit www.landmarks2017.ca

July 1 - Canada Day

  • Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation at Canada’s first national urban park! Activities for all ages.

July 8 - Canada Historic Places Day

  • 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of national historic sites in Canada. Fun activities are planned to celebrate this milestone. 

July 15 - Parks Day

  • Parks Day is a national celebration of Canada’s parks and protected areas. Celebrate Parks Day in the Rouge with free educational programming and special activities. 

July 22 - Moth Night

  • Explore the fascinating and often misunderstood world of moths with this fun evening program.

July 23 - Butterfly Day

  • Join us as we celebrate the park’s butterflies and explore their important role here at the Rouge.

July 29-30 - Learn-to Camp

  • Spend 24 hours in the park and learn how to make a campfire, set-up a tent and prepare a camp meal. Tents, equipment and meals provided. Registration opens on Wednesday, May 3 at 10 am. Call 1-844-365-2646. For more information visit the Learn to Camp information on our website.  

July 30-31 - Learn-to Camp

Sep 23 - Art Day in the Rouge

  • A celebration of the Arts in the Rouge! There’s something for artists of all ages and interests.

Oct 3-9 - Fall Walk Festival

  • The Rouge is thebest place in the GTA to enjoy fall colours! Join us for over 30 free public walks and programs. Presented by OPG, Parks Canada and the TRCA.

Oct 19-21- Illuminations
