Winter contest 2023-204

  1. ELIGIBILITY

The contest is open to anyone at least 18 years old that is participating at one of the various Parks Canada kiosks set up by the Montreal Learn-to Camp team between November 25 2023 and March 31, 2024. Parks Canada employees cannot participate in this contest, nor can the members of their immediate families or their legal or common-law spouses, or anyone with whom such employees are domiciled. 

  1. HOW TO ENTER CONTEST

By visiting the contest participation at a Parks Canada’s booths. Visitors can complete a free entry form and deposit it on site in the location provided for this purpose (contest box). Each participant is entitled to one (1) participation only, equivalent to one (1) entry form. Parks Canada reserves the right to cancel participation in the case where (but not exclusively): a participant has completed more than one entry form; the information on the entry form is illegible; the information on the entry form prohibits the individual from participating. 

  1. DATE AND TIME LIMITS FOR PARTICIPATION

Date and time limit to participate in the contest is Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 20:00PM ET. 

  1. DETAILED DESCRIPTION AND VALUE OF THE PRIZES OFFERED (value of around $530) 
  • Two (2) Christmas baskets valued at approximately $75 each, containing various items of Parks Canada merchandise (Tuber'z, Parka stuffed toy, Parka keychain, Parks Canada multipurpose bag, Parks Canada badge, Parks Canada Montreal Heritage History booklet, etc.).
  • A private VIP cross-country skiing tour for a family, equipment included, along the banks of one our canals with a surprise package of Parks Canada’s goods, with a value of approximately $50, to be carried out during the winter season 2024.
  • Loan of 2 fat bikes for a ride along the banks of one of our canals and a surprise gift from Parks Canada, with a value of approximately 50$, to be carried out during the winter season 2024.
  • One (1) Family/Group Discovery Pass, with a value of $145.25.
  • A Learn-to camp overnight stay for 4 persons at Lachine Canal’s Berge des coursiers on the date chosen by the winner from among those available during the 2024 summer season, with a value of $134.75. 

The prize only includes what is specified in this document, and no other allowance, compensation or substitution will be awarded. 

  1. METHOD OF AWARDING PRIZES

A random draw of an entry form which will determine the winner. It will take place in the offices of Parks Canada in Montreal in 5 steps.

The 2 Christmas baskets will be drawn on December 25, 2023. The VIP cross-country skiing tour for a family will be drawn on January 1, 2024. The loan of 2 fat bikes and the surprise gift from Parks Canada will be drawn on February 14, 2024. The Learn-to camp overnight will be drawn on March 30, 2024. Finally, the Discovery Pass will be drawn on April 1, 2024

The draw will be made among all the entry forms duly completed and deposited in the box provided for that purpose during deployment on the Lachine canal on the dates of each draw. The chances that the entry form of a participant is selected randomly depend on the number of entry forms received in accordance with item No. 2. 

The winner will be notified by phone or e-mail in the week following each draw. 

  1. CONDITIONS
  • In order to be declared a winner, the person whose contact information is on the entry form drawn at random must be reachable by phone by the contest organizers within three (3) days of the draw. It is the responsibility of each participant to provide a phone number or a valid e-mail which he can be reached at between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday to Sunday. 
  • To be eligible for the prize, the participant drawn at random must have correctly answered the mathematical question on the entry form. 
  • The prize cannot be converted into cash, is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-exchangeable. 
  • In the event of an impossibility to provide the prize as described in this document, Parks Canada Agency reserves itself the right to substitute a prize or prizes, in whole or in part, of an approximately equivalent value. 
  1. PERSONAL DATA – PRIVACY POLICY

No personal data appearing on the entry forms will be saved. After the draw of the winning form, the other forms will be destroyed mechanically. 

The only personal data retained will be the e-mail of the participants who checked the box to the effect that they wish to receive the Lachine Canal newsletter, in order to add them to the newsletter mailing list.
