Kouchibouguac National Park
Kouchibouguac National Park offers three different backcountry camping locations. Each one offers fireplaces, picnic tables and pit toilets. Firewood is available on site.

Well water is available at Petit-Large (spring, summer and fall only) and Sipu only, however these wells are under a boil water advisory. Ask Park attendants about the water situation.
You must arrive prepared for situations where a campfire is not possible.
Petit-Large
This primitive campground is open year-round. It is in a field surrounded by forest, about 3.5 km from the Pijeboogwek and 0.5 km from the Petit-Large shelter. In the winter, a toboggan on skis is available to help transport your material to the site. Ask the park attendant on duty at Pijeboogwek.
There are 8 sites with picnic tables, a fire pit with firewood, a shared outhouse and a bear-proof pole. Wood supply may vary through the year and visitors should be prepared to cook on a camp stove. Well water is available; however, it is under a boil water advisory.
Allowed equipment: Single tent, 2 tents, 3 tents. Maximum 1 pad per reservation.
Dogs are not permitted on cross country ski trails.
Visitors with dogs are asked to use snowshoeing or walking trails.
Pointe-à-Maxime
Located on the edge of Kouchibouguacis river, in the southern part of the park near Cap Saint-Louis wharf, this site can easily be used as a departure point to visit the seals in the nearby Blacklands gully. Watch for tides and strong currents as well as local fishing boats. It is only accessible by paddle (2.5km from Cape Saint-Louis Wharf, or 4.3 km from Callanders Beach).
There are 4 sites on grass with picnic tables, a fire pit with firewood and a shared outhouse. Wood supply may vary through the year and visitors should be prepared to cook on a camp stove. Campers must carry-in their water- there is NO well water available at this site.

Sipu
‘’Sipu’’ pronounced ‘’see-boou’’ means ‘’River’’ in Mi’gmaq language. This primitive campsite is situated on the south shore of the Kouchibouguac River approximately 5.5 km paddle from Ryan’s Rental or a 5km hike from Pijeboogwek.
