Founded in 1902 by the Order of St. Basil the Great (OSBM) and the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate (SSMI), this mission firmly established the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canada and paved the way for the appointment of the country's first Ukrainian Catholic bishop. Once a centre of Canada's largest Ukrainian block settlement, this small prairie community retains a lasting imprint from its founders. Together they nurtured the language, culture, and faith of thousands of Ukrainians, and fostered the Church's growth both at home and abroad.
