Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site

WHAT: Special caution is recommended while travelling and camping in the area.

WHERE: Bare Loon Lake campground and area.

WHY: A bear was seen investigating the grey water pit and bear lockers on June 28th and June 30th. Ensure that you:

Travel in groups

Make noise while hiking

Carry bear spray and know how to use it

Maintain a safe distance between you and any bear

Carefully manage all bear attractants

Consider moving to Bennett or Lindeman campgrounds if you see signs of recent bear activity at Bare Loon Lake.
