Long-term monitoring indicators

Fathom Five National Marine Park

The establishment of long-term monitoring initiatives is crucial for comprehending shifts in fish communities and developing sustainable management practices. This project aims to develop new indicators designed to evaluate the status of key species and aquatic habitats as part of Fathom Five National Marine Park's ecological sustainability monitoring program, as well as contribute data to regional monitoring programs. Saugeen Ojibway Nation fish harvesters have been engaged in this aspect of the work because they have the expertise in the field and experience with the equipment required to conduct some of the proposed indicators.
