Microsoft Teams for mobile

You should see the Microsoft Teams app on your mobile device.

Teams is available for Android (Samsung phones) and iOS (iPhones).

Note for Samsung users: To be able to sign in to your Parks Canada Teams account, you must use the Teams app on the Workspace side of your device. If you have downloaded the Teams app on the Personal side, the sign in will not work.

Sign in and get started

  1. Open the app and tap Sign in.
  2. Use your first.last@pc.gc.ca email address and computer password to sign in.
  3. Choose Work or school account.
  4. You should get a prompt (call, text, or app notification) for multi-factor authentication (MFA). Follow the instructions to approve your sign in. If you need help with the MFA process, see Multi-factor authentication.
  5. Select M365 MCAS Device Verify Certificate.
  6. The Teams app should now be ready to use.

Note: If your sign in fails on the first attempt, please close the app and go through the steps again.

The Teams app is not available on all Parks Canada mobile devices. Some of our basic model phones have limited computing or internet capacity. A general guideline is: if you can get Parks Canada email on your phone, Teams will be available.

Optimize mobile data usage

We strongly recommend that you change a setting in the Teams mobile app to limit the amount of data used on your device. This will help avoid data overages. How to optimize mobile data usage (accessible only on the Parks Canada network).

Best practices for using Teams on your mobile device

  • You can send messages (chat), participate in meetings, view your calendar and call colleagues from the Teams mobile app.
  • Use the video camera sparingly.
  • You can dial in to Teams meetings using the regional phone number provided in the meeting details. (We will be providing a toll-free dial-in option for Teams meetings soon.)

Other things you should know

  • You may see other Microsoft 365 (M365) apps on your smartphone, like SharePoint, OneDrive and Planner. These apps will not be available to use until we implement the full suite of M365 tools across the Agency. You can ignore them for now.

Service Desk support

If you have any issues with Teams on your mobile device, contact the Parks IT Service Desk (accessible only on the Parks Canada network). The Service Desk will prioritize support for Teams on your desktop over mobile.
