Jasper Park Information Centre National Historic Site

Across from the heritage railway station in the heart of Jasper Townsite, you’ll find a Rustic- style stone and timber building designed by architect A.M. Calderon. It’s your welcome to Jasper’s vast Rocky Mountain wilderness, just as it was a century ago.

This iconic building is the Jasper Information Centre, built in 1914. Inside the rustic building you’ll meet friendly park staff who’ll provide expert information, maps and advice to help you get out and explore the park.

The historic building once housed park administration offices and was the residence for the park superintendent. Today you can get information on camping sites, hiking trails, wildlife viewing, scenic drives, accommodation, dining, attractions, weather conditions, pick up a park pass and permits and even buy gifts and souvenirs.

Parks Canada and Tourism Jasper staff, as well as the Friends of Jasper Gift Shop are all here, making it the perfect place to begin your adventure.
