Trek to the Fort: March 23, 2024

Parks Canada and Aurora Winterfest invite you to join Trek to the Fort, the annual journey across the Churchill River to discover fur trade history at Prince of Wales Fort National Historic Site.

The hike is about an eight-kilometre round trip and is mostly over sea ice. Upon reaching Prince of Wales Fort, enjoy hot chocolate and snacks near a campfire. When everyone has warmed up, take a tour of Prince of Wales Fort and get a real sense of the challenges faced by the Hudson’s Bay Company employees living here in the 18th century.
