Our weather is dramatic, changeable and sometimes very fierce.

It is almost always windy on the shores of Hudson Bay. Winds can be gentle or gale force.

Spring arrives in May but is brief. Temperatures can range from -10°C to 20°C.

During the summer (June, July and August), temperatures range from 0°C to 35°C, but it has been known to drop from 30°C to 5°C in 20 minutes.

Blizzards can arrive as late as the last week of June and as early as mid-August.

The autumn (September and October) is stormy and temperatures range from -25°C to 15°C.

Winter (October to May) is the longest season with temperatures ranging from 0°C to -45°C. Wind chill can bring the temperature down to the equivalent of -65C, which means exposed skin can freeze in 30 seconds.
