Riel House National Historic Site is nestled in a quiet, residential area in South St. Vital, Winnipeg. As its address at 330 River Road indicates, it lies just along the east side of the Red River. The following directions will make Riel House easy to find, no matter how you're travelling.

By vehicle
Riel House is located on the east side of the Red River, south of Abinojii Mikanah in St. Vital, Winnipeg. Turn south from Abinojii Mikanah on River Road for access from the north. -
By bus

Why not bicycle to Riel House National Historic Site? We suggest riding along the east side of the Red River, through nearby St. Vital Park, a beautiful place for an afternoon ride. Continue south along River Road until you reach Riel House National Historic Site.

By vehicle
- From the north:
Using Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway if necessary, travel along Highway #9 (also known as Main Street or Route 52). Continue south through the famous Portage and Main intersection. Just after the Norwood and Main Street bridges, Main Street becomes St. Mary's Road. Remaining on St. Mary's Road, continue south until Abinojii Mikanah (about 10 minutes). Turn right (west) on Abinojii Mikanah. Continue along until River Road (the next set of traffic lights). Turn left (south) and proceed down River Road to Riel House National Historic Site. - From the south:
Using Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway if necessary, proceed north on Highway 75 (also known as Pembina Highway or Route 42). Proceed north on Pembina Highway for 10 minutes. Turn right (east) at Abinojii Mikanah. Cross the Red River and turn right (south) immediately over the bridge. Proceed down River Road to Riel House National Historic Site. - From the east:
Using Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway if necessary, travel along TransCanada Highway (also known as Fermor or Route 165). Continue west until St. Mary's Road (Route 52). Turn left (south) on St. Mary's Road. Remaining on St. Mary's Road, continue south until Abinojii Mikanah. Turn right (west) on Abinojii Mikanah. Continue along until River Road (the next set of traffic lights). Turn left (south) and proceed down River Road to Riel House National Historic Site. - From the west:
Follow Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway around to the south end of the city. Proceed north on Highway 75 (also known as Pembina Highway or Route 42). Proceed north on Pembina Highway for 10 minutes. Turn right (east) at Abinojii Mikanah. Cross the Red River and turn right (south) immediately over the bridge. Proceed down River Road to Riel House National Historic Site.
