Inside the Blockhouse
The building includes two areas furnished to their original appearance: a barracks room and a storage loft. Both suggest the Spartan lifestyle of soldiers manning the outpost. Parks Canada interpreters are available on-site to further reveal the Blockhouse's history.
On-site Interpretive Signs
There is a series of six illustrated interpretive panels at various points on the grounds. These help visitors gain an understanding of the War of 1812's significance, the nature and use of a blockhouse, and what everyday life was like in a garrison town.Kids Club
This summer program allows kids to explore St. Andrews Blockhouse and its history through crafts, games, and other fun activities. Kids Club is held weekly. Please contact the site to register your child, or for more information.Related links
