The Bethune Visitor Centre – a place to be inspired!
Opened in 2012, the Bethune Visitor Centre provides over 325 square metres of exhibit and activity space, housed in a beautiful balance of stone and wood. Both on the landscaped grounds and inside the centre, the compelling story of Norman Bethune is told in interactive exhibits, stories, video, art and statues. Each year, many thousands of visitors explore the centre and experience the various programs offered at the site. A unique meeting space for parties of up to about 50 people is also available for rental, in this inspiring setting. New in 2017, and adjacent to the Visitor Centre, a First World War themed family activity area will present a child friendly snapshot of the work of Bethune and other doctors, medics and stretcher bearers during the war. The new play area will be about 50sq meters, with a winding wooden and sand-bagged trench flanked by a "training area", with a climbing apparatus, a balance beam, bridge and tunnels.
