Info-Work: UPDATE: Temporary Traffic Controls at Burritt’s Rapids Swing Bridge
Rideau Canal National Historic Site
April 24, 2019, Smiths Falls, ON – Parks Canada would like to advise that vehicles may encounter short delays at the Burritt’s Rapids Swing Bridge on Thursday, April 25. Traffic control staff will be onsite as lines are painted on the road approaches to the one-lane swing bridge. This work is weather dependent.
Work to repair the swing bridge was completed in fall 2018. This work is a part of Parks Canada’s $3 billion investment to support infrastructure work to heritage, visitor, waterway, and highway assets located within national historic sites, national parks, and national marine conservation areas across Canada. These investments represent the largest federal infrastructure plan in the history of Parks Canada.
