Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
We all have a role to play in maintaining safety on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Parks Canada takes responsible care managing foreseeable risks of harm while visitors and residents alike exercise care to protect themselves and others from danger.
In partnership with other organizations, whether you're travelling on a boat or simply out for a walk, we hope to inspire safe and enjoyable visits to the Trent-Severn Waterway's lockstations, rivers and lakes.

Visitor guidelines
The Trent-Severn Waterway adheres to the Historic Canal Regulations which prohibit or restrict a number of activities.
Dams: How to stay safe
Getting too close to dams can be dangerous. Calm water can quickly, and without warning, become a surge of fast-moving water.
