Winter visitor safety

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal National Historic Site

Parks Canada reminds you to be vigilant and cautious when visiting the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Canal during winter, as snow-covered surfaces can be slippery. To make the most of your visit in complete safety and avoid any incidents, please follow these guidelines:

  • Wear winter-appropriate footwear to minimize the risk of falling.
  • Avoid climbing over railings and keep a safe distance from canal walls to avoid slipping.
  • For safety reasons, it is forbidden to walk or skate on the ice that forms on the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue canal in winter.
