Winter visitor safety
Carillon Canal National Historic Site
During winter, Parks Canada reminds you to be vigilant and cautious when visiting the banks of the Carillon Canal, as snow-covered surfaces can be slippery. Here are a few tips to help you enjoy your visit safely and avoid incidents.
- Wear winter-appropriate footwear to minimize the risk of falling.
- Avoid climbing over railings and keep a safe distance from canal walls to avoid slipping.
- For safety reasons, it is forbidden to walk or skate on the ice that forms on the surface of the water in winter.
