Carillon Barracks National Historic Site
Following extensive flooding in recent years, major renovations are required at Carillon-Barracks National Historic Site. The Argenteuil Regional Museum (French only) is relocated for an indefinite period.
The building displays its historic personality with its walls, interior room divisions and its outdoor environment. About 10,000 artifacts are contained within the Argenteuil Regional Museum.
Don’t be surprised if a sailboat mast catches your eye as you leave the museum. Located nearby, the Carillon Canal has been operating its huge 200-tonne guillotine door to allow boats to travel the Ottawa River since 1833, a magical sight to watch.
