How to get here

The Sir George Étienne Cartier forms part of a historic triangle along with the Château Ramezay Museum and the Notre Dame de Bonsecours Chapel/Marguerite Bourgeoys Museum. These three museums are all situated within close proximity of Montreal City Hall and the Old Port of Montreal.

Bus

Take the 14 Amherst bus from either the Laurier or Beaudry metro stations and get off at the stop on Notre-Dame, between Bonsecours and Gosford in Old Montreal.

You can take the bus No. 515 "Vieux-Montréal/Vieux-Port" from Peel or Berri-UQÀM metro stations and get off on Bonsecours St. at the corner of De la Commune or Notre-Dame.

Metro

Take the orange line to Champs-de-Mars. Walk through the pedestrian tunnel and take the Gosford street exit (south) and walk up the hill to Notre-Dame street. On Notre-Dame street turn left (east). The historic site is located on Notre Dame at the corner of Berri (two blocks).

Bicycle

Located at the corner of Notre-Dame and Berri streets in Old Montreal, the historic site is easily accessible by the bike paths that border Berri and de la Commune streets.

Bike racks are located in our backyard.

Two Bixi stations are located within a walking distance at the corner of De la Commune/Berri and Saint-Antoine/Berri.

Car

The Sir George-Étienne Cartier National Historic Site is located on 458 Notre-Dame street East(corner Berri) at the eastern end of the historic district of Old Montreal.

The historic site has no parking on-site. However, spaces are available on the streets adjacent to the site. Paid parking is also available in the City of Montreal parking lot on Saint Hubert street south of Saint Antoine street.
