Grosse Île and the Irish Memorial National Historic Site
Explore Grosse Île differently, on foot or by bike!
Explore the island at your own pace! On foot or by bike, discover the history and must-see attractions of this quarantine location, as well as the landscapes and natural environment of Grosse Île.
Along your way, you will have access to several historic buildings and exhibitions. Visiting different stations, you will meet characters who will make you relive the fabulous history of this island, which welcomed hundreds of thousands of immigrants between 1832 and 1937.
Audio-guided tour
It is possible to visit Grosse Île using the Parks Canada mobile application. We invite you to download Parks Canada National App before your visit at Grosse Île. A map of the path can be found in the application.
Visit by bike
It is possible to bring your bike with you. The path is a 4.5 km round trip and the road is gravel.
Wearing a helmet is recommended. Please note that some areas are not accessible to bicycles and that there are no electric bike charging stations on the island.

Price
Parks Canada is pleased to offer free admission for youth at our parks and sites, however regular fees still apply for other experiences and services, such as school programs and guided tours.
Please note that transportation fees apply to visitors of all ages in addition to the Parks Canada rates. We invite you to contact Croisières Lachance for more details.
