Fort Lennox National Historic Site

Located on Île aux Noix in the middle of the Richelieu River, Fort Lennox National Historic Site protects natural environments of remarkable biodiversity, which is typical of the Richelieu Valley. In fact, this site is located in one of Quebec's most diverse regions. The moat dug around the fort, initially used as protection against invaders, now has all the characteristics of a wetland where various species of frogs, turtles, aquatic plants and birds coexist.

Conservation

Various projects are being implemented to understand, protect and restore the ecosystems of Fort Lennox National Historic Site.
