Transfer of Lands to the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan

In accordance with The Cabinet Directive on the Environmental Assessment of Policy, Plan and Program Proposals (2010), a strategic environmental assessment (SEA) was conducted on February 1, 2021. The purpose of SEA is to incorporate environmental considerations into the development of public policies, plans, and program proposals to support environmentally-sound decision making.

The proposal will contribute to or challenge the Federal Sustainable Development Goal 8, Sustainably Managed Lands and Forests. There are no important negative environmental effects anticipated from the implementation of the proposal.
