Glacier National Park
From 2021-2024, the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy. 1) will have scheduled closures at Golden B.C., east of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks due to scheduled highway improvements. Both parks remain open to visitors. Visit the Kicking Horse Canyon Project for more information.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend that visitors planning a trip to Glacier National Park during the spring and autumn shoulder seasons (April, May, June, September, October) contact us by phone or e-mail for the latest information on facility openings and closings.
How to Get to Glacier National Park
- Glacier National Park is accessible by car or charter bus via the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1).
- The visitor centre at the Rogers Pass Summit is 342 km from Calgary and 643 km to Vancouver. The nearest communities are Golden, 80 km to the east, and Revelstoke, 72 km to the west, both of which are serviced by small, chartered aircraft only.
Please note: Vehicle fuel is unavailable at Rogers Pass. Fuel is available in the city of Revelstoke and the town of Golden. - The City of Revelstoke is located 410 km west of Calgary, 575 km east of Vancouver.
- The nearest commercial airports are at Revelstoke, Kamloops, Kelowna and Calgary.
