Kouchibouguac National Park
Kouchibouguac's interpreters are passionate about sharing their knowledge and love for this spectacular place. Get swept away on one of the many adventures they have prepared for you.
Activities with interpreters will assist you in finding a more meaningful connection to natural surroundings and a better awareness of the local cultures in this protected area of Canada's heritage.

Wigwam gathering
Experience a voyage back in time with informative stories of Mi’gmaq presence at Kouchibouguac National Park. Learn about the traditional weaving and plant resources, food gathering throughout the seasons; be transported through time while listening to legends and much more!

Lovin' lichens
Learn about these pioneer species that grow in such abundance among the kings of our forest. A walk and talk along an easy, level trail. People always come away from this one with a newfound appreciation of lichens!

Medicine walk
Take a stroll with us to discover medicinal and edible plants present in the bog trail. This bilingual program will be offered rain or shine. Please bring your hat, sunscreen, water bottle and bug spray.

A bug's life
Some fly, some jump, some crawl, some bite, and some sting: an investigation into the weird world of insects and why they matter. This is a very hands-on activity. It involves several games as well as an exploration component where we hand out nets and get people to go out and catch bugs. Kids love it (but it’s not just for kids). Even if it’s rainy out, we still have fun with the games.

Riverwalk of the long tides
A stroll amongst towering pines and whispering birches, following the Kouchibouguac River, where ocean and forest meet. The focus will be on experiencing the river and the forest using the senses and learning a bit about the area’s history and ecology along the way. We envision it being a nice relaxing morning stroll.
