Protecting species at risk
Kouchibouguac National Park
An action plan for Kouchibouguac National Park
Parks Canada aims to protect significant examples of Canada’s natural heritage, safeguarding species and healthy ecosystems for their own sake and for the benefit of present and future generations. How do we achieve this? Lots of hard work, and good planning!
The Multi-Species Action Plan helps guide our conservation work at Kouchibouguac. It was developed in accordance with the Species at Risk Act (SARA), which legally protects wildlife in Canada. The plan helps us identify priorities that focus on species at risk and their habitat.
The goals are to:
- improve the status of species at risk in the park
- protect park ecosystems
- educate the public, and
- better understand our natural heritage
