Curious about the park and its stories? Visit the Discovery Centre. From geology to plants, moose to caribou, marine life to arctic life and all sorts of other stuff, your questions will be answered here.

Nuts about rocks? Curious about that barren orange mountain in the south, and why GMNP is a UNESCO World Heritage Site?  Gros Morne: The Story in Stone exhibition reveals the secrets of our amazing rocks and the reason for our WHS designation. It’s a tale of continents, and oceans destroyed and reborn, mountain chains thrust up then ground to sand.

 
While there, check out the new exhibition, Miawpukek: The Middle River explores the stories and traditions of Conne River, a Mi’kmaw community on Newfoundland’s south coast.

Get out and hike too. From the Discovery Centre you can head up the Lookout Trail onto the arctic highlands for an incredible view on the park and Tablelands, or for a gentler adventure, walk up to the Em Tapper Look-off. Take the community trail into Woody Point, skirting old cemeteries and stopping at one of the best lookouts in the region.
