Meet Colleen, Resource Conservation Manager

Hard to answer! There is so much diversity in the national parks and sites in the western Arctic that are extremely remote and hard to access. One of the most amazing sights was at La Roncière Falls in Tuktut Nogait National Park while working with the Paulatuk Hunters and Trappers Committee on a fish project. So few people get a chance to see these incredible falls that are located along the Hornaday River as it is reaching the Beaufort Sea.

The Ecological Integrity Monitoring Program for Tuktut Nogait National Park is my all-time favorite. To collect the data, we travel down the Hornaday River by canoe with a great group of people, collecting and recording information on raptors, lemmings’ nests, water quality and benthic invertebrates.

Collaborating with different organizations, governments, and researchers in the western Arctic to support our conservation goals. By working together, we can achieve so much more.

Its never-ending: there is always more knowledge to learn and different perspectives to see problems from.
