Pursuant to subsection 35(1) of the National Park Fishing Regulations, the activity of fishing is hereby prohibited to all persons within Quttinirpaaq National Park.

This closure does not apply to Inuit exercising the right of access for harvesting as provided in the Nunavut Agreement.

Where: All waters within Quttinirpaaq National Park. See map below.

When: Year round.

Why: Pursuant to the Quttinirpaaq National Park Management Plan, a fishing closure has been identified until the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board determines whether the ecosystems of the park can sustain sport fishing.

Persons contravening this closure may be subject to prosecution under the Canada National Parks Act; maximum fine $100 000.
