All aboard the DayTripper for an invigorating cruise over sparkling water to Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay Islands National Park! Enjoy the scenic 15-minute boat ride to begin your adventure for the day. Enjoy a hike or have a picnic or go for a swim.
Please note, the DayTripper is only available to be booked for half day park visitors. Overnight campers, or full day visitors will need to provide their own boat, or hire a water taxi, to access Beausoleil Island.
Go South or North... Which is best for you?
Cedar Spring
(South end of Beausoleil Island)
The Cedar Spring area is the hub of activity for the Georgian Bay Islands National Park. Here, you’ll find mountain bike rentals, a welcome centre, interpretive programs, picnic shelters, swimming beaches and easy trails for hiking and biking.
Chimney Bay
(North end of Beausoleil Island)
The northern part of the island is a more challenging hike for those with mobility issues or small children. Trails around Fairy Lake contain exposed bedrock which can become slippery when wet, rugged terrain and noticeable elevation changes. This area contains some of the best hiking trails and scenery in the park – with breathtaking views out over the islands of Georgian Bay! You’ll see the granite bedrock, clear blue water and windswept white pines that inspired the famous Group of Seven artists. There are plenty of spots to stop for a scenic picnic or dip in the bay.
DayTripper Reservations: Reservations are required and can be made with the Parks Canada Reservation Service by calling 1-877-737-3783 or online. Note that pets and recreational equipment (bicycles, canoes, etc.) are not permitted on the DayTripper.
