Restricted Activity: Smoking and Vaping Restrictions

What:
Pursuant to Section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activities are prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
- Smoking and vaping of all substances, including tobacco and cannabis
Where:
- Within 20m of playgrounds, public buildings, shelters and viewing towers. These include all washrooms, all picnic shelters, the Visitor Centre, Northwest Beach playground and pavilion, Camp Henry dining hall and children's play area, the Tip shuttle drop-off loop and shelter, as well as the march and tip viewing towers.
- Inside oTENTik accommodations.
- On the park shuttle
Exception:
Smoking and vaping is permitted in leased campsite areas outside of the oTENTik structures.
Why:
To protect the public from second-hand smoke and enhance the safety and enjoyment of public areas.
Note:
Violators may be changed under the Canada National Parks Act.
