oTENTik - a new and exciting overnight experience

New for summer 2018, Pukaskwa National Park is introducing 5 oTENTik tents in the Hattie Cove Campground.

What is an oTENTik?

An oTENTik is an alternative accommodation for visitors that complement the traditional camping offer. These units are a cross between a tent and a rustic cabin, which provide lodging for up to six people and are equipped with a table and chairs, beds, a wood stove and even a BBQ!

Why offer oTENTiks?

To enhance visitor services already offered, Parks Canada has more than 300 of these popular accommodations across the country. oTENTiks help remove barriers that may otherwise prevent people from camping by providing comfort, security and convenience. So, whether you are new to camping or a veteran camper who is looking for a little luxury, oTENTiks are an appealing option for all!

When will they be ready?

These new accommodations will be available for visitors to Pukaskwa National Park starting July 1, 2018.

Where are the OTENTiks located?

The oTENTiks are located in the Hattie Cove Campground in the area between the Visitor Centre parking lot and the South Loop campsites. This area was chosen for its proximity to the comfort stations, Visitor Centre and nearby scenic views of Hattie Cove. Visitors will park in the Visitor Centre parking lot and walk in to their oTENTik site.

How much does it cost? Can the oTENTiks be reserved?

At Pukaskwa National Park, in peak season, from Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend, a stay in an oTENTik will cost $120 per night. During the shoulder season the cost is $100 per night. Online reservations for Pukaskwa’s oTENTiks start May 10, 2018.
