Safety is everyone’s responsibility
Forillon creates unique memories that you can gather in safe places.
Most outings to the park go without a hitch. However, mishaps do happen. It is therefore important for you, as a visitor, to be well informed and prepared to minimise their impact.
At Parks Canada, we make sure your visit is safe by assessing risks, dealing with incidents and providing information that is accessible to everyone. We invite you to find out more before your visit. Take a few minutes to read the web pages on safety on the land, at sea, camping, on the road or with wildlife. Once you're there, stop off at a visitor centre to meet and talk to the staff. That way you'll be up to date with the latest information on fire index, storm watches, area closures, etc. Our Facebook page is also a reliable source of information.
Once again, to have a memorable, hassle-free stay, be well prepared.

Best practices in photography
A good telephoto lens allows you to photograph wildlife without disturbing it.
During your stay at Forillon, you’ll have many opportunities to photograph scenic landscapes, snap a photo of your loved ones at a lookout, or capture a seal portrait!
Here are some photography best practices to keep in mind:
- Respect other visitors, their right to enjoy public spaces, and their privacy.
- Stay on trails to avoid trampling vegetation.
- Always give wildlife plenty of space. If you don’t have a telephoto lens (at least 300–400 mm), show the animal in its natural habitat.
- Never surround, chase, or block an animal’s path.
- Never put yourself or others at risk to take a photo with wildlife..
- Never attempt to attract wildlife by feeding or calling them (e.g., imitating animal sounds).
- Recreational drone use is prohibited in the park.
