Science and conservation
Prince Albert National Park
When the natural structure or function of an ecosystem has been seriously altered, intervention may be necessary to restore ecological integrity.
In Prince Albert National Park, the focus is on four primary ecosystem conservation and restoration activities: fire, wildlife and vegetation management as well as disturbed area rehabilitation. Ecological monitoring is used to determine what factors are threatening the health of the parks ecosystems as well as guide the planning and determine the success of active management projects.
