UPDATE SEPTEMBER 13, 2024: AREA CLOSURE LIFTED

WHAT: Pursuant to Section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following area is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:
The Alder Creek prescribed fire is a controlled operation with strict burning conditions and area closure.

WHERE:
1) Cottonwood Trail from southern trailhead to Upper Victoria Creek (km 33)
2) Mush Lake Road
3) Shorty Creek Trail

WHY: To ensure the safety of visitors and staff.

PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty $25 000.

End date: Until further notice
