Kluane National Park and Reserve
Snowmobile authorization

Pursuant to Subsection 41(1) of the National Parks Highway Traffic Regulations, the Superintendent may permit and specify areas where snowmobiling is allowed in the Park & Reserve. This notice serves as written permission to use snowmobiles in the following areas only of Kluane National Park & Reserve:
- The pipeline right-of-way within Kluane National Park & Reserve from the Dezadeash River Bridge (south of Haines Junction) to the old Dezadeash Lake Lodge.
- The access road between the Haines Highway, up to and including the Kathleen Lake Day Use Area Parking Lot (this does not include the road to the Campground).
- The ice surface of Kathleen Lake (this does not include any tributaries, the shore, or neighbouring lakes).
Pursuant to the National Parks Highway Traffic Regulations and the Yukon Motor Vehicles Act, snowmobiles must be registered, properly equipped, and operators are required to be licensed when operating on maintained roads and parking lots. In addition, helmets are required for youth under the age of 16, and for all operators and passengers on maintained roadways and parking lots.The use of snowmobiles remains prohibited in all other areas of Kluane National Park & Reserve.
