Da Kų Cultural Centre in Haines Junction

The Kluane National Park and Reserve Visitor Centre is located in the Da Kų Cultural Centre in Haines Junction and is the perfect place to begin your Kluane adventure!


Visitor Centre exhibits

Spend an hour or a day as award-winning digital exhibits, engaging exhibit panels, cultural artefacts, hands-on activities and stunning high-definition video draw you in to the fascinating world of Kluane National Park and Reserve.

Watch historic footage of the first mountaineers to climb Mount Logan, listen to audio recordings of traditional stories told by First Nation elders, study a 3-D topographic model of the soaring peaks and vast icefields of the St. Elias Mountains.

Discovery drawers
There is so much to explore!

Discovery drawers and interactive games invite kids (and adults!) to dig in and learn about the plants, animals, and seasons of life in the park.

Diverse trip planning resources and knowledgeable staff are available to assist you in discovering a trip into Kluane that is just right for you.

Thechàl Dhâl' Visitor Centre

Thechàl Dhâl' Visitor Centre

Situated in the 'Ä’äy Chù Valley, the Thechàl Dhâl' Visitor Centre is a one-hour drive north of Haines Junction on the Alaska Highway.

The Thechàl Dhâl' Visitor Centre has new exhibits, developed in close collaboration with local First Nations. Learn how the land here, despite its harsh winters, has long sustained Dań – people. Inside, the large, colourful exhibits sparkle with original bead work by Kluane First Nation citizens.

Out on the deck, enjoy new panels about grizzly bears, Dall’s sheep, and the dramatically changing landscape. Scan for sheep with a spotting scope: they are most likely to be visible on the nearby mountain, Thechàl Dhâl', in spring and fall.

In the bright and warm Sharing Place, ‘Alhaashajàl Kų Yìw, relax and enjoy the view during inclement weather. Some days, there will be programming by a Kluane First Nation interpreter or Elder.

Staff are on hand to answer your questions and help you plan and register for your hiking adventures.
