Facility accessibility

Our team strives to provide an accessible and inclusive experience for all visitors within the limitations of our heritage building. If you require assistance during your visit, please ask a staff member.

Parking and building access

A ramp connects Radium Hot Springs parking lots to the bathhouse. The main parking lot is on the southbound side of Hwy 93 South. A pedestrian underpass connects this parking lot to the facility’s ramp. A smaller parking lot with accessible parking spots is located on the northbound side of Hwy 93 South. From the small parking lot, it is a 175 m walk to the bathhouse.

Radium Hot Springs’ entrance is equipped with an automatic door that is activated by a push button.

Access to the pool level

From the reception area, a set of stairs with 24 steps takes visitors down to the dry hall.

An elevator also provides easy access to pool level of the facility. If you require assistance during your visit, please ask a staff member. View our Accessibility guide for elevator measurements.

Personal wheelchairs are not permitted in the spring water at Radium Hot Springs. An aquatic wheelchair is available upon request at the front desk.

Accessible change rooms

Radium Hot Springs has two accessible change rooms that are separate from the traditional male and female change rooms. These rooms have a shower, a chair, and an emergency pull cord. Street shoes, street clothes, winter coats, other belongings, and bags can be stored in the lockers located outside of the accessible change room.

The lockers are double-stacked. If you are able, please use the upper bank of lockers.

There is a separate accessible washroom on the pool level located just off the wet hall. The bottom of the counter is 740 mm (2’5”) and has a knee clearance of 330 mm (1’1”). The toilet has grab bars behind and to one side of the toilet.

Hot and cool pool access

Access to the pool decks is through the wet hall.

There is one automatic door onto the hot pool deck. The doors onto the cool pool deck are manual.

The hot pool can be accessed by a ramp with handrails on both sides or 6 steps.

A lift system is available to enter and exit the cool pool. Please ask a staff member for assistance if you require the lift system.
