Accessible from the Nipigon Marina, this short loop over flat terrain has multiple bird feeders and interpretive signs offering information about the species of trees you will find along the way. It is rare to take this walk without seeing signs of wildlife or getting a chance to spot various species of birds and small mammals. For those looking for a longer walk, the Clearwater Loop is also connected to the Nipigon River Recreation Trail, which will take you along the Nipigon River to either Sawmill Point, or all the way to the town of Red Rock.
Directions: From Highway 11/17 turn onto Railway Street or First Street and follow the directional signs to the Nipigon Marina. Park in the marina parking lot and walk south across the road bridge to the trailhead for the Nipigon River Recreation Trail. Follow the Nipigon River Recreation Trail for a short distance, then turn right (west) at the first intersection and follow the signs to return to the parking lot.
