Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park

The Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park is a protected and exceptional marine area inhabited by nearly 2,200 species. You will encounter whales, seals and sea birds. Immerse yourself in a rich and fascinating universe by visiting the three Parks Canada interpretation centres located on the edge of the marine park between Charlevoix and the Côte-Nord region.

Whale watching from the shore

Let yourself be surprised by the visit of marine mammals and seabirds as they come to feed a few metres away from you. Enjoy the beautiful scenery to picnic and relax… between two whale blows!

  • Accessibility: partially for people with reduced mobility.
  • Note: it can be cooler by the river. Bring warm clothing and closed shoes, even in the summer.

Between nature and culture

Discover the history of a lighthouse station and of those who ensured the proper navigation of the St. Lawrence River, then enjoy an enchanting natural setting from which you will see whales and seals just a few metres away.

Nordic snorkelling and scuba diving

Brave the cold waters of the St. Lawrence in search of polar stars and other curious marine animals and plants. You will discover an abundance of colourful flora and fauna.
