Group tours

The Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site of Canada welcomes group bookings. Whether you are a community-based, recreational, service, educational or commercial tour group, we can tailor a tour for you. With appropriate notice, we will dedicate 1 or more guides to your booking and take into consideration the interests of your group, special needs and time available.

We recommend 1 to 1.5 hours for your visit. This allows for a custom tour and the showing of our movie: Ebb and Flow (25 minutes).

We also recommend allowing some time for personal browsing, whether it is in our exhibits or Gift Shop. Most groups also enjoy exploring the nearby shops, restaurants or other historical sites.

In order to give you the best service, and to ensure availability on the date you prefer, please call as far in advance as possible.

Bookings can be changed up to 72 hours before the booked date without penalty. Payment is due the day of the visit.

To see group rates, consult the Fees page. Payment can be made by cash, credit card, debit card or cheque.

Considerations

The maximum number that can be toured at any one time is 60 people. Groups of this size will be given 3 tour guides and rearranged into 3 smaller groups. Groups larger than this will be accommodated in back-to-back tours. Our Bookings representative will suggest the best arrangement.

The interior of the Cannery is always cooler than the outdoor temperature, so guests are encouraged to wear jackets in the Spring and Fall, and sweaters in the Summer. Hats, scarves and gloves are recommended for Winter.

No food, drink or smoking is allowed on site. The village of Steveston offers many opportunities for refreshment before or after your tour.
