Port-Royal National Historic Site
Port-Royal Habitation is situated on the Annapolis River in Port-Royal, Nova Scotia, a 2-hour drive from Halifax and the airport. Melanson Settlement and Fort Anne are nearby.
The grounds are open year-round with no winter maintenance. The Habitation and washrooms are open from mid-May to Thanksgiving Day. Visit between June and September for the full experience.
Plan to spend at least two hours touring the site, though it’s easy to pass more time exploring the Habitation, and picnicking along the Annapolis River.
