KAWARTHA LAKES, ON - February 24, 2023 – Parks Canada advises that public access across the Elliot Falls Dam, located in Kawartha Lakes near Norland on the Gull River, is closed effective immediately in the interest of public safety.

A structural inspection has confirmed deterioration of the concrete structure. While the dam poses no immediate danger to properties downstream, access will be limited to Parks Canada staff only, for the foreseeable future.

Barricades and fencing will be installed, and signage will be posted to direct people away from the area.

Parks Canada would like to thank area residents and visitors for their patience and understanding.
